Red Cedar

Red cedar fences are the most durable and popular fences for Texas weather. It is not the cheapest wood on the market, but it will outlast most other wood in the region. Known for extreme weather changes, Texas can drop 40 degrees overnight and come back within a day. This causes contraction and expansion in the wood and red cedar holds up well to yo-yo weather patterns. Red cedar fences also stand up well to moisture changes. From Texas flooding to dry summers and high humidity, red cedar is the ideal wood for a fence. Redwood is extremely strong and rot-resistant and comes in a variety of strengths. It is a beautiful wood that is popular with our customers.

Cypress

Cypress is aesthetically pleasing but typically fades into a gray tone over time. However, it can be easily painted when it fades. It is priced higher than Yellow Pine but is better looking.

Southern Yellow Pine

Southern Yellow Pine is found easily throughout Texas, and it is the cheapest of wood. The main concerns when it comes to yellow pine are insects. What we tend to do is treat the wood so this not an issue. Southern Pine is mainly for people on a tight budget.
